Cities Development Initiative for Asia (CDIA) is a multi-donor trust fund managed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), established in 2007. It aims to support secondary and medium-sized cities in Asia and the Pacific by bridging infrastructure development and financing gaps through demand-driven project preparation. CDIA focuses on sustainable urban development, addressing challenges such as rapid population growth, infrastructure deficits, and climate change.

CDIA provides technical assistance for high-priority infrastructure projects, offering preparatory studies to make them bankable and attractive to financiers. The initiative emphasizes a demand-driven approach, linking city development plans to implementation and improving urban infrastructure management. Recent projects include studies in Yerevan and Gavar in Armenia and efforts in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. CDIA collaborates with various funders and partners, including governments and international organizations, to facilitate sustainable investments in urban areas.
